The Balm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter-Review

Hello Everyone!
So I'm a newbie to highlighters as I'm a little dubious at actually applying highlighter to my face as well I don't want to look like a glitter ball but I've been buying a few to actually try out and see if I like it.

The Mary-Lou manizer by the balm is a highlighter everyone raves about so I picked it up on a chance I would actually be able to get this to work on my skin. As I have oily skin I'm dubious of adding any shimmer to my skin as I feel it starts to look very shiny the more products I add onto my skin. I picked this up off Depop but you can buy it on Feelunique. This highlighter is £17.50 which may be a little expensive if this is your first highlighter and it may not be in your price range but you do get around 8.5g in the pan so it's definitely worth the money when you know it will last quite a while if it's used sparingly.

I've been using this on a daily basis for the last couple of weeks to see my full opinion on this so I thought now was the time to start reviewing this on here. First off I love the packaging as I love all the Balm's products but that's not the only thing I like about this product. As I said I'm quite dubious of using this so I do apply this quite light handed but I love the little shimmer this applies to my cheekbones and any other place I apply this on my face. The highlighter is a champagne shade with gold glitter running throughout it and I can see the difference with how my skin looks when I apply this to my skin. I feel I look more healthy when I apply this as it adds a nice shimmer to my face and when the light hits it I can just see the shimmer. I have to say after using this it made me purchase more highlighters but I still don't jump at the chance of applying highlighters to my skin as I feel I'm still not experienced enough to pay over the odds for a high end highlighter but maybe in the future I will pick one up. I know the 8.5g will definitely last me a long time so paying the £17.50 doesn't seem much knowing I wont have to buy one for a long time.
To anyone who is looking for a new highlighter and haven't actually picked this up (I know everyone and their mum actually love this highlighter!) But there will be a few people who actually haven't picked it up and I definitely recommend it, I'm not experienced as I said but I can make this work so I'm pretty sure everyone else could make this work no matter what skin type you have. The price may be something which may put you off as £17.50 is quite a lot but you can find it on Depop for a bit cheaper but also it will last a long time so you wont have to buy a new one for a while, If your building up your make-up collection this is definitely a good thing to purchase as it's best starting your collection with the right products which you know work.
Have you purchased the Mary-Lou Manizer?

  1. I've been lusting over this product for ages, I've heard so many good reviews about it. It's really expensive for me, I always tend to buy drugstore products, but I really wanna treat myself to more high end ones, and this is something on my list. I'd love to try out products from this brand in general as well, everything looks so pretty!! xxx

  3. I've wanted to try this for so long, it looks like such a gorgeous highlighter! I also have oily skin, so it's good to know that it doesn't make your skin look too shiny!

  4. This looks like such a gorgeous highlighter, it seems to be a popular product amongst bloggers so I've heard lots of good things! I'm using MAC's Soft & Gentle at the moment as a highlighter and it's absolutely gorgeous, definitely will be repurchasing it again and again xo
