More Than This - Book Review

Hello Everyone!
So today I'm going to be sharing my review on the book I recently read and I'm so happy.
So I've been in a reading slump for around six months maybe more and I just couldn't get myself out of it and had no idea what book to pick up so one evening I decided to give Luke my kindle and pick a book he wanted me to read. Luke has no idea what any of the books were about but he decided on More Than This by Jay McLean and I didn't know what to expect as I couldn't remember what this book was about but I thought I wouldn't look into the book or look at reviews but just get into the book and hope it got me out of my reading slump... I read this book in two days, Yes two days. I fell in love with the book and the characters but I will go into that in a second. I feel reading on my kindle makes me read the book a lot faster but I'm so happy I actually got myself out of my reading slump so thanks to Luke for picking this book for me, My main hobby is back and I can read again!
So this book took me on such a roller coaster but I loved every second of it. So the main character Mikayla starts the story going to prom which some events kick off straight away so the book is full on from the beginning but I loved how fast paced the book is. In the first few chapters Mikayla meets Jake who she meets in a restaurant after the events at the beginning of the book and they kick it off straight away and you kind of know they will become more than friends but I just think they fitted each other perfectly. After a few chapters another massive event happens in the book which was such a surprise in the book for me but it made the story a lot more serious yet added such a good storyline for the book. The book mainly follows Mikayla and Jake after the events and throughout their friendship which finally turns into a relationship at the end of the story which that part of the story annoyed me as they could of been in a relationship for most of the story but it didn't become official until the end of the story. The characters in the story were just so lovely and I fell in love with every story. So one of the main characters Megan who is Mikayla's best friend tells a certain thing to Mikayla towards the end of the book which I expected but I didn't expect it from her. So as I said I finished this book in two days but I got so invested in the characters and stories it's the only thing I'm thinking about at the moment and that just shows it was such a good book. So this is the first book in the More Than series from Jay McLean but I've already purchased the second book and I'm getting onto it now- I'm so excited! I think there is around five books so far and then there is another spin off series so I feel as though I'll be reading this series for a while but I couldn't be happier as I loved this book so much. I would honestly recommend this book to anyone who loves contemporary books and if you love books which are fast paced but have a lovely storyline and relatable characters then this series is definitely up your street! I can't wait to get into the second book in the story.
Have you read this book?
